Privacy policy

Introduction

ConstructionSync ("we", "us") is an AI consulting business for general contractors and trades, based in Quebec, Canada. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through constructionsync.ca and when you contact us by email or phone.

We follow Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as updated by Law 25) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

When you use our contact form

• Your name and email address
• Your company name and phone number, if you give them
• The topic you choose and the message you write

When you email or call us

Your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us about your business.

When you browse the site

Our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use it to identify you.

We only ask for what we need to reply. Please don't send sensitive information, such as health details or bank account numbers, through the form.

How we use your information

• To reply to your inquiry and set up a consultation
• To understand how your business runs, so we can recommend and scope work
• To deliver and support the work, if you become a client
• To keep the records the law requires, such as invoices
• To keep the website secure and working

By sending the contact form, you consent to these uses. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us.

We never sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising. We only email you about your inquiry or our work together. We won't add you to a mailing list without asking first.

Sharing and service providers

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only what each one needs:

• Web3Forms processes contact form submissions and delivers them to our inbox.
• Google (Gmail and Google Workspace) provides our email.
• Cloudflare hosts the website and protects it from attacks.
• Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces. Your browser connects to Google to load them, which shares your IP address with Google.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it. If ConstructionSync is ever sold or merged, your information would only be transferred under the same protections described here.

Storage outside Quebec

The providers above may store or process information on servers outside Quebec and outside Canada, including in the United States. We choose providers that commit to protecting personal information and that use encryption and access controls. Information stored outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the country where it is held.

Data security

The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your inquiry is limited to the people at ConstructionSync who need it to reply or do the work.

No system is perfectly secure. If a confidentiality incident creates a risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, as the law requires.

Data retention

• Inquiries that don't lead to work: kept for up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted.
• Client information: kept for the length of the engagement, then as long as the law requires. Accounting and tax records are generally kept for six years.
• Technical logs: kept briefly by our hosting provider under its own policy.

Your privacy rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
• Correct information that is wrong or incomplete
• Stop using your information and delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it
• Send you your information in a structured, commonly used format

Email info@constructionsync.ca with your request. It's free, and we reply within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Cookies and tracking

We don't use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots and attacks. These don't follow you across other websites.

If we add visitor analytics in the future, we will choose a privacy-friendly tool and update this policy first.
